Château de LuVi & Hennessy Run
A handcrafted farmhouse retreat — where heritage, design, and care meet.
Nestled in Prosser’s wine country, Château de LuVi & Hennessy Run was imagined not just as a coop, but as a reflection of timeless design and heartfelt craftsmanship. Built from reclaimed wood, limewashed by hand, and finished with French-inspired detailing, this project celebrates the art of care and intentionality — proof that beauty belongs in every corner of life, even in the smallest structures.
“Every Project Begins with a Story”
Nestled in the warmth of Prosser, WA. This custom chicken coop was envisioned not merely as a shelter but as an upscale farmhouse retreat for our feathered friends — a space that reflects care, craftsmanship, and the beauty of rural living.
It’s name, Château de LuVi, was chosen in honor of our mothers — their initials woven together — a tribute to the roots and values that guide every project I create. The word “Château”, French for “castle” or “country estate”, embodies the spirit of this build — a place of care, character, and legacy, where beauty and function come together in harmony. It’s a reflection of the love that built it, inspired by my wife’s connection to France and my love for timeless design.
“Even the simplest structures deserve depth, texture, and soul.”
The adjoining chicken run was affectionately named Hennessy Run — a playful nod to our love of fine cognac and slow, warm evenings shared with friends. Both names speak to our shared story: French influence, creativity, and the joy of crafting something meaningful — even for the smallest of residents.
Inside the Craft
Built with intention and character, nearly 80% of the structure was crafted from reclaimed wood, paired with vintage windows and doors that give the coop a sense of history and soul. Detailed with hand-selected architectural elements, it feels more like a countryside guest house than a barnyard structure.
Inside, the craftsmanship continues. The interior drywall walls and ceiling were limewashed entirely by hand, using Colour Atelier mineral primer and layered lime paints — Chèvre 150% Darker & 100% Standard, Wabi 150% Darker, and Bone 150% Darker — then sealed with a matte clear finish for durability. The result is a soft, organic patina that breathes warmth and tranquility — proof that even a chicken coop can embody timeless beauty and refined simplicity.

Every brushstroke, board, and finish was chosen to create a space that feels both elegant and alive — a small sanctuary where design, comfort, and nature coexist beautifully.
Where design meets heart
I’ve always believed that my attention to detail — or what some might call my OCD for perfection — is what gives each project it’s soul.
I can’t help but make even the most ordinary things as beautiful and complete as they can be. Because to me, even the simplest structures deserve depth, texture, and meaning — they should feel alive, crafted with care, and built to last.
